Our client wanted a very small footprint house in a very remote location. We needed to maximize the space and keep the views. In addition to the main cabin, there is a carport with storage for agriculture and gardening.

This project is built with hard wood. Timber is used to sequester carbon and is one of the many methods we implement to reduce the carbon footprint of the buildings we design… The project required a very small footprint house in a very remote location so we needed to maximize the space while keeping the fantastic view. In addition to the main cabin, there is a carport with storage for agriculture and gardening.

PROJECT DETAILS

Connecting the carport with the dwelling is a solar overhang that creates a vestibule for entry, while capturing sunlight that will power the home.

PROJECT DETAILS

Large bi-fold doors open the house to nature, doubling the size of the interior by creating a bridge between the inside and the covered lanai.
